Day 1: Arrival in Varanasi and Evening Ganga Arrival in Varanasi

Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat—Night

Day 2: Varanasi Sightseeing 

1. Kashi Vishwanath Temple Why Visit: One of the 12 Jyotirlingas, this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is the very heart of Varanasi's spirituality. 

Travel Tip: Darshan Tickets have to be booked in advance as it generates much queueing time.


2. Assi Ghat Why Visit: This is the most southern ghat of Varanasi, known for its peaceful environment and sunrise yoga. 

Side Note: The mornings are peaceful, great for meditation or photography.


3. Sarnath

Why Visit: It's just 10 km from Varanasi, and it's the site of Lord Buddha's first sermon. Dhamek Stupa, Ashoka Pillar, and Sarnath Museum are the attractions here. 


4. Banaras Hindu University (BHU) Why Visit: BHU is one of the largest residential universities in Asia and houses the New Vishwanath Temple, a wonder in modern architecture. 


Day 3: Drive to Ayodhya and Saryu Ghat Aarti 

Drive to Ayodhya 

Day begins with a road journey to Ayodhya. Situated around 200 km from the city of Varanasi, this is the birthplace of Lord Rama. Reach your hotel after the journey. 

Evening at Saryu Ghat

Why Visit: Witness the Saryu Ghat Aarti, a lovely ceremony performed along the banks of the Saryu River. The soothing mantra and the glowing diyas will make this a divine sight. 


Additional Note: Take a walk around the ghats to soak in the serene surroundings.


Day 4: Ayodhya Local 

1. Ram Janmabhoomi Why Visit: The birthplace of Lord Rama and the holiest in Ayodhya. This magnificent temple being constructed is going to be the wonder of Indian architecture. 

Tip: Be an early riser to have a peaceful visit to the place.


2. Hanuman Garhi Why Visit: A sacred temple of Lord Hanuman is situated at the hilltop that offers a panoramic view of Ayodhya. 

Additional Note: The climb is quite rewarding spiritually and visually. 


3. Kanak Bhawan Temple: Visit for: Beautifully carved idols of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita grace this temple. 


4. Guptar Ghat Visit for: Jal Samadhi of Lord Rama is said to be taken here. The ghats are very peaceful and good for meditation and reflective atmosphere. 

Once revived by a rich breakfast, you could continue your journey back. If there is time, you can visit that favorite place again or shop for souvenirs like Varanasi silk sarees or handicraft products of Ayodhya.

By Air

Varanasi: Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport, VNS, connects Varanasi with major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata. 


Ayodhya: Ayodhya Airport connects to Lucknow and Delhi. 

Varanasi Junction and Ayodhya Junction are significant railway hubs and, therefore, well connected to other parts of India. 


Through Road 

The twin cities can be accessed by road too, and highway routes are in good condition, along with bus services that chug in and out frequently. Private taxis are easily available as well.
