ISKCON Vrindavan or Krishna Balaram Mandir is the most important place in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh. Situated in Braj Bhoomi, the sacred land, the temple is devoted to the divine brothers,Lord Krishna and Balaram. History of Krishna Balaram Mandir

In 1975, Krishna Balaram Mandir was founded by HIS Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the founder of ISKCON. This is the aim and principle of the institution created by him in order to enlighten/propagate loving devotion to Lord Krishna and the Vaishnavas form of Gaudiya.


The philosophy followed here is primarily based on the religious teachings of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and his six Brijbaas. The believers are instructed to pursue a life of humble service to God and to Goranga as was the policy of these great acharyas.


Architecture and Design

The Krishna Balaram Mandir, a white marble architectural marvel, is a beautiful work of art. It is adorned with various carvings, domes, pointed arches, and checkerboard marble floors. This temple is composed of three main shrines. Krishna-Balaram Shrine - A holy spot for both, Lord Krishna and Balaram.


Similarly, the ark that encloses them is appointed with very rich and beautiful murals portraying the marvelous deeds (leelas) of Krishna. The devotees built a samadhi shrine to honour Srila Prabhupada's memory by holding meetings for temple purposes.
