Evening Aarti of Ganga:
Morning Ganga Aarti at Assi Ghat:
Best Months to Watch:
Special Days:
Dashashwamedh Ghat
The main Ghat in which grandest Aarti ceremony ceremonies take place. Centrally located less than a kilometer away from Kashi Vishwanath Temple, gathers thousands every evening.
Assi Ghat
In contrast, famous for its Subah-e-Banaras, kind of morning version of Ganga Aarti that includes yoga sessions, devotional music, and prayers at sunrise.
Rajendra Prasad Ghat
This is branch out of Dashashwamedh Ghat, and thus though it's not as crowded, it is still as much spiritual.
All Ghats are important in their way but Dashashwamedh Ghat is the center stage of the whole Ganga Aarti.
Once the largest brass lamps and incense are set up, it is their priests (Pandits) who adorn themselves with traditional saffron or white robes.
The sound of conch shells is synonymous with the invocation.
Huge, golden oil lamps are lit up against the black velvet of night.
Fresh and fragrant flowers are offered with burning incense in devotion.
Manipulation of lights in an almost hallucinatory visual phenomena, via synchronized movements by the priests, each one moving with the rhythm.
Diyas (tiny oil lamps) are ultimately sent to float on the Ganga on this last day, carrying with them the wishes and prayers made.

The Ganga Aarti in Varanasi is more than just an occasion; it is an almost surreal experience that leaves an imprint on the soul of every onlooker. You could witness the grand evening performance at Dashashwamedh Ghat, attend the tranquil one at sunrise on Assi Ghat, or float silently in a boat soaked in the shimmer of lights with no words fitting to describe the ambience soaked in spiritual energy.
The chants, the prayers uttered in synchrony, and the glow of innumerable lamps reflecting on the holy bit of Ganga β The Aarti is an essence of ancient Indian devotion and cultural heritage.
Plan your journey well: Reach early; choose your desired viewing point and take in every atmosphere around you. Not to forget special occasions such as Dev Deepawali and Kartik Purnima, which add to the grandeur and make it more than twice-in-a-lifetime.
With Vrindavan Mathura Tourism, your spiritual pilgrimage shall be made in comfort, authenticity, and memories. Let the soul be purified by the serenity of Maa Ganga's Aarti, which leads the heart to bliss and divinity.
