2. Vaishnava Janmashtami: Saturday, 16 August 2025

Smarta Janmashtami is only followed by householders and in accordance with Smarta tradition. Vaishnava Janmashtami is celebrated mainly by ISKCON temples and Vaishnavite sect devotees, typically 1 day later, when the Ashtami Tithi is present along with Rohini Nakshatra at midnight.

1. Nishita Kaal Puja Muhurat: 12:01 AM to 12:45 AM (midnight of 15–16 August)
2. Duration: 44 minutes
3. Time of Lord Krishna's birth (Nishita Kaal): Circa 12:15 AM (based on Mathura timings).
4. Nishita Kaal is the exact time of Lord Krishna's birth and most temples in Mathura and Vrindavan will begin the Janma Aarti and Abhishek rituals during this time.

Tithi and Nakshatra Timings

1. Ashtami Tithi Starts: 09:28 AM on 15 August 2025
2. Ashtami Tithi Ends: 10:21 AM on 16 August 2025
3. Rohini Nakshatra Starts: 02:45 AM on 16 August 2025
4. Rohini Nakshatra Ends: 05:30 AM on 17 August 2025

The above timings dear devotees of Lord Krishna are based on Vedic Panchang and specifically important for Vaishnava devotees. Rohini Nakshatra is of particular relevance.
