Prem Mandir was initiated on 2001 at the hands of Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj. It was in 2001 that the temple's construction got underway, including over a thousand workers, and it took 11 years to accomplish the project, which was accomplished in 2012. It is a monument to the vision of Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, a god of love and the spirit of devotion. The temple that officially opened in February 2012 is one of the younger and more impressive buildings in Vrindavan.
Prem Mandir, a massive marble temple, like no other in the world is a very successful combination of Rajasthan and Gujarati architectural styles having 54 acre spread and rising to 125 feet. The entire habitat is made from Italian white marble and glows like pure divinity. Its walls, floors, and ceilings are elaborately adorned with intricate flower patterns, divine motifs, and life-sized figures of Krishna Leelas.
Key Features:
This one gradually turns into a whole spectacle of water that bows gently and turns to the tunes of devotional songs, and the fact that it is a crowd favorite makes the fountain irresistible. It's a totally abstract idea but a good one—this fountain can be described as the ultimate artistic form since it's a truly remarkable show taking place every night with its extravagant demonstration of sound and light.
Whenever the night comes, the dazzling light colors transform it to the marble holy place that lacks the liveliness during the day. This virtual beauty is a source of joy for both photographers and tourists.
The temple is ornamented with life-size figures of Govardhan Leela, Raas Leela, and several others, which are all episodes taken out of the life of Lord Krishna. And then there are these stunning pieces of art that not just give spiritual knowledge but that are also an incredible treat to the eyes.
Prem Mandir is the stage where Shri Krishna Janmashtami and Shri Radhashtami are celebrated with great enthusiasm, with people attending for the cultural events, grand decorations, and spiritual fervor.
The most suitable time to go to the beautiful Prem Mandir is during February-April and October-December because the climate there, then, is very pleasant. Therefore, avoid visiting during the time of extreme summers or winters due to the high degree of temperature extremes.
